Explore Your Way: Avowed Lets You Mix Up Quests

Obsidian Entertainment, the brains behind Avowed, has a cool idea for their game. They want players to have fun in any way they choose! Berto Ritger, their Environment Region Designer, revealed that players can start most quests in multiple ways. Forget following quest markers like a robot; you can explore dungeons from different angles, complete tasks out of order, or even kill important characters (if you're feeling dangerous). The goal? To keep you wandering and delighted! In a recent hands-on preview, players only got to try a few quests. But even so, it was exciting to think about starting quests whenever and however you want. Just remember, while Avowed does offer plenty to explore, it might not be as open-ended as games like The Witcher 3 or Skyrim. No worries, though – the starting area still has its secrets! Avowed is set to launch on February 18 for PC and Xbox Series S|X. A recent update from Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer revealed that the delay was just to give the game more breathing room during the jam-packed holiday season.
