Get ready to welcome autumn in St. Charles! The 39th annual Scarecrow Weekend is just around the corner, starting this Friday. The event will run through Sunday, offering a mix of fall-themed entertainment and activities for everyone.
The main attraction is the scarecrow contest, which will be held all weekend long. Voting is open, so keep an eye out for your favorite scarecrows along Riverside Avenue, Lincoln Park, and First Street. There are four categories to choose from: Individual/Family, Business, Club/Not-for-Profit/School, and Mega/Mechanical.
Lincoln Park will transform into the Family Zone, packed with fun activities, live music, dance performances, and roaming entertainment. You might spot the Windy City Ghostbusters or be amazed by the Magic of Scott Piner. Don't miss the stage performances by Leslie Hunt and the Hunt House Showcase, along with Hillbilly Rockstarz.
Riverside Avenue will be the place to be for more family-friendly fall activities. You'll find a rock climbing wall, an inflatable corn maze, and an interactive family DJ.
First Street Plaza will host free live music throughout the weekend. Bands like Phase V, The Frizz, and 13 Days will be performing.
Food lovers won't be disappointed. The St. Charles Breakfast Rotary and the St. Charles Kiwanis Club will have food for sale in the front Municipal Building parking lot. In Lincoln Park, you can enjoy treats from Just Kabobs, Taco Urbano, and Windy Acres Farm.
Many local businesses will join in the fun with special sales and promotions.
“Scarecrow Weekend is a fantastic time for our community to celebrate the fall season together,” said Jenna Sawicki, Executive Director of the St. Charles Business Alliance.
