Family Roots, Science Drinks

'In a quiet Slovak village at the close of 2000, a simple dinner conversation sparked an idea that would grow into a company. Ivan Ducko and his father discussed how aging changed the body’s reaction to alcohol, and that led to a plan: create a drink that helps people recover after drinking. The goal was clear – combine modern science with traditional healing to relieve hangovers and support digestion and the liver.
Growing up surrounded by doctors, pharmacists and researchers, Ducko’s family tested hundreds of mixtures. Every formula was scrutinised to meet the high standards of both the food and pharmaceutical industries. Within a year they finished a prototype called Alcohol Killer, their first brand. To prove its worth, the team turned to American labs that specialise in toxicology and asked them to run controlled trials. The results were positive: the drink helped the body process alcohol faster, giving the team confidence that their hard work mattered.
By 2005 Alcohol Killer hit the market, and the company’s reputation was built on rigorous testing rather than fleeting trends. From there, Ducko expanded his vision. Drawing on his mother’s research into beta‑glucans, he added this ingredient to all new products. In 2016 they launched a sweet‑free drink in Shanghai, and later introduced Bioactive Water 82 with 82 different electrolytes. The newest offering, Yodina water, adds iodine to its full‑spectrum electrolyte mix.
The company remains a family business. No matter where the products are sold – from New York to Zimbabwe – they keep the same quality and standards. The pandemic disrupted distribution, but now SPACElab is rebuilding its global reach through trade shows and new partners who share their values.
Looking ahead, the company seeks distributors and investors that match its long‑term vision. With proven product demand, a scalable EU factory and an international distribution network, SPACElab aims to grow in key markets while staying true to its founding principles of curiosity and collaboration.
