Cameroon faces an uphill battle with HIV it struggles with it clinically. Among those fought hard onis the North West Region of the country. This area faces a stark reality: roughly 4 out of 100 of residents are living with HIV. That's significantly higher than Cameroon's national average of 2. 7 out of 100. But when it comes to these numbers, the story doesn't stop at adults. No, let's not ignore women in the region. The HIV rate amongst them hits 5. 8 out of 100 in North West compared to a meager 1. 6 for men! The attention shifts now towards the smallest members of residents that live there: children. They often face highly challenging situations, especially when it comes to getting proper HIV treatment. In fact, despite medication being readily available, kids don't benefit adequately from it. Of special note. Children are vulnerable in all this, their fight against HIV stiff and challenging. So, did HIV suppression due to treatment vary between adults and children in North West Cameroon?
