The Guangdong News channel recently showed the OPPO Find N6, and viewers were surprised to see almost no visible fold line on camera. The crease that usually marks a folding phone was barely detectable, a notable improvement over earlier models where the seam is obvious.
OPPO’s design has managed to reduce the crease dramatically, but physics still limits complete removal; a small indentation will always exist. Even so, the Find N6 turns the crease into a minor cosmetic issue rather than a major distraction.
Earlier foldables, like Samsung’s first Galaxy Folds, had creases visible from a distance. Each new generation has trimmed the line slightly, but the Find N6 pushes this trend further, hinting that consumers may soon stop seeing the seam as a deal‑breaker.
The real question is whether this visual gain will translate into wider adoption, given that price, durability and software still pose challenges. Many potential buyers have expressed that a foldable would appeal more if the line were invisible in everyday use.
If manufacturers continue improving hinge mechanisms, display materials or optical tricks, future foldables could truly eliminate the crease under normal viewing conditions. The Find N6 shows that the industry is moving toward a future where the seam is no longer a focal point.
