Finding the Best Spots for Famous Homes in Huanggang
Hubei Province, China, Huanggang,Sat May 09 2026
The research looks at where well‑known old homes were built in the city of Huanggang.
It asks which natural features made those places good choices for famous people to live.
Using a method called the Analytic Hierarchy Process, the team picked eight key land features.
These include things like hills, rivers, wildlife areas and how stable the ground is.
The features were mapped in ArcGIS software to see how they line up with the homes’ locations.
When the data were put together, a scoring system was made.
The results show that out of 136 homes protected by the government, about half (48%) are in spots that fit the best criteria.
Another third (36%) are in good places, while only a small share fall into less ideal or poor categories.
The study also examined one home in detail: the former house of Li Siguang.
Its setting matched the model’s predictions very well, giving confidence that the system works.
Overall, the work highlights how the natural environment shapes where important figures choose to settle.
The findings can help planners pick future building sites and design landscapes that respect both history and nature.
