First Look at OnePlus 13: Leaks Reveal Changes

ChinaFri Oct 18 2024
Before OnePlus officially debuts its flagship phone, OnePlus 13, scheduled for the end of October, a famous leaker, OnLeaks, has shared an intriguing photo online. On a Chinese social media platform called Weibo, an image supposedly showing the OnePlus 13 surfaced. The leaker shared it with the caption, "Alleged first #OnePlus13 picture currently spreading over Chinese social media. . . " The rear view of the phone in the photo looks quite similar to the OnePlus 12. However, there are a few noticeable changes. The flash on the camera array seems to have been integrated into one of the lenses this time, unlike the previous model where it was placed to the left of the array. Additionally, the camera array has a more metallic, silvery finish compared to the earlier glass finish. Another change is the Hasselblad 'H' logo, which has been moved from the camera array to the side, next to a vertical line connecting the camera setup to the phone's edge. The camera layout still maintains OnePlus's signature massive circular design. OnLeaks also shared another image featuring a silver OnePlus 13 and a blue Oppo Find X8. The arrangement of the camera array and the edge line can be seen, similar to the earlier photo. Looking at the rear view, it's hard to guess the display specifications or internal features. However, it seems OnePlus is introducing some alterations to the design. When it comes to the Oppo Find X8, very little is known apart from rumors about its features. It is speculated to have a copycat version of Apple's new Camera Control button found in the iPhone 16. Moreover, it might sport some of the thinnest bezels available, potentially even thinner than those on the iPhone 16. The Chinese launch is approaching, promising a closer look soon, but those wanting the global version will have to wait until 2025, as OnePlus usually releases the global version a few months after the Chinese debut.
