Flock CEO Visits Dallas as Protesters Rally Over Camera Surveillance
Garrett Langley, the head of Flock, traveled to Dallas for a sit‑down with Police Chief Daniel Comeaux. The meeting took place at the Dallas Police Department on September 30, 2026.
Outside the building, a handful of locals gathered to voice their worries. Ramon Mejia stood with a placard, while Nora Soto addressed the crowd on behalf of the North Texas Democratic Socialists of America. Both spoke against the use of Flock’s camera system that reads license plates.
A journalist covering the department reported on the meeting. The journalist earned several investigative honors, including a Texas Managing Editor’s Star Reporter award in 2022.
The protest highlighted growing unease about constant monitoring of everyday life. Critics say the technology could track movements without consent. Supporters argue it helps keep streets safe. The debate continues as the city weighs privacy against security.
