Flooring Liquidators, a company that sells and installs flooring, cabinets, and countertops, has moved to Fairfield. This move is part of a plan to fix the company's financial problems. The company is now in a big 104, 000-square-foot building on Watney Way. The CEO, Chris Nichols, chose Fairfield because it has a good workforce and is close to big ports like Oakland and San Francisco. The company is hiring 40 to 50 people right now and plans to have about 80 employees in Fairfield. The new office is being designed to look like a tech company, with a game room, gym, and open work areas. There will also be a big showroom for cabinets and flooring. Nichols took over as CEO in January. He said the company had been losing money for two years. But since he started, things have been getting better. The company is now making a profit and selling more. Nichols said they are using new technology and better ways of doing things to make the company more efficient.
The company is also focusing more on private-label products, which are now 25% of their sales. This helps them make more money and control the quality better. Nichols said the employees are the most important part of the company's success. Live Ventures, the company that owns Flooring Liquidators, has been having some problems. They reported that their earnings went up, but their sales went down. This was partly because of the housing market being slow. Flooring Liquidators has about 30 stores, mostly in California, Nevada, and the Midwest. They plan to have 60 stores by the end of 2026. Live Ventures wants to open even more stores in the future. Nichols said the new granite yard in Fairfield meets a long-standing need in the community. He has lived in Fairfield since 1992 and knows the area well.
