Florida has seen its fair share of hurricanes this season. As we move into November, the weather is changing. The hurricane season officially ends on November 30, and while the tropics are still active, Florida is no longer in the main storm path. There's been some chatter about a new tropical system forming, but it's too early to worry.
With the Northern Hemisphere experiencing a fall-like pattern, cooler air is moving in. This shift is due to decreasing daylight hours and the formation of high-pressure ridges. This cooler, drier air pushes the warm, moist air away, making it less likely for tropical storms to develop near Florida.
Good news: this weather pattern is expected to stick around for at least the next couple of weeks. This means that any tropical activity forming is less likely to head towards Florida. Instead, it will move away, thanks to high-pressure systems and cold fronts.
Looking ahead, the heaviest rainfall is likely to stay in the Caribbean and Central America. For Florida, this means much quieter weather. In fact, some areas might not see any rain at all. Cooler temperatures are on the way, with lows in Tampa potentially dropping to the 50s by Thursday morning. It's time to break out the sweaters!
