Flying Out of BTR and MSY? Think Again!
Baton Rouge, LA, USAThu Jan 23 2025
Ever thought about flying out of Baton Rouge or New Orleans? Well, think again! The winter weather has brought a lot of snow, and it's causing big problems at the airports. The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, or BTR, has canceled most of its morning flights. Their website says that flights before 4 p. m. are probably not happening.
Over in New Orleans, the Louis Armstrong International Airport is also having issues. Some flights were canceled, but they're hoping that those set for later in the evening might still take off.
If you're wondering about the cold, keep an eye on the weather forecast from The Storm Station Meteorologists. They'll keep you updated on the sub-freezing temperatures.
Imagine waiting at the airport, all packed and ready, and then finding out your flight is not happening. That's a bummer! This weather is making it tough for everyone trying to fly out.
It's important to remember that these things happen when Mother Nature gets involved. Planes need clear runways, and snow can make that tricky. Plus, the cold can affect how the planes work too.
So, if you're planning to fly out, make sure to check with your airline and stay updated on the weather. It's better to know what's happening and plan accordingly.
