Fossil's Last Wear OS Smartwatch: The End of an Era

Ever wonder what happened to Fossil’s Wear OS smartwatches? Well, the last one just vanished! Fossil, once a big player in Google’s Wear OS, announced they were done with smartwatches about a year ago. And now, the final Fossil smartwatch on the market, the Citizen CZ Smart Gen 2, has disappeared. Fossil and Citizen teamed up on these watches in 2018, but things didn’t go as planned. The Gen 2 had clever fitness features, but its release was messy, and it was briefly pulled from the market. Despite that, it stayed for sale until January 2025 when Citizen quietly removed it from their online store. This means Fossil’s time with Wear OS is officially over. Now, Google’s Pixel Watch and Samsung’s Galaxy Watch are leading the way. Other brands like Mobvoi and OnePlus are still around, but the stylish smartwatches from older watchmakers are barely seen anymore. Wear OS is doing great, though, growing faster than ever!
