Four Suspects Charged in Murder of NJ Detective: What Happened?

It's a tragic story of a dedicated public servant taken too soon. Detective Monica Mosley, who served Cumberland County for nearly 20 years, was found dead in her home on October 15. Four individuals have been charged in connection with her murder, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office. Nyshawn Mutcherson, aged 29, faces serious charges. He's from Vineland and is accused of murder, burglary, and unlawful weapon possession, among other offenses. Jarred Brown, 31, from Bridgeton, and Richard Willis, 32, from Gloucester City, are also facing similar charges. Cyndia Pimentel, 38, from Paulsboro, is accused of trying to cover up the crime. She's been charged with hindering, obstruction, and tampering with evidence. New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin expressed condolences, noting that while justice won't bring Mosley back, the investigation aims to provide comfort to her loved ones. The night of the incident, Bridgeton Police responded to a suspected break-in at Mosley's home. They found Mosley deceased from a gunshot wound. Before her death, Mosley had reportedly shot Mutcherson, who later sought treatment at Inspira Medical Center, claiming he was shot in Millville. Brown and Willis, with Pimentel's help, allegedly worked to destroy evidence and cover up the murder. Law enforcement used cellphone data, surveillance footage, DNA, ballistic analysis, and recorded statements to build their case and charge all four suspects. Currently, the motive behind the killing remains unclear.
