I've been an Android user for over a decade, but recently, I decided to give the iPhone a try. I was curious about iOS 18 and wanted to improve my reviews of Android phones by having a better comparison. The iPhone 16 Pro caught my eye, especially the new Camera Control. It's a button that takes photos when pressed, but it also has a half-press feature. While it's not perfect and can cause blurry photos, I found it useful for launching the camera quickly.
Face ID was another surprise. I've had issues with it in the past, but the iPhone 16 Pro's version worked great, even with my sleep apnea mask. The camera on the 16 Pro is impressive, taking sharp, natural photos and offering fun features like 4K 120FPS slow-motion. However, I disliked the limited storage on the base model.
Notifications on iOS are a downside. They only show messages that arrived after locking the phone, and there's no notification counter in the status bar. Siri, on the other hand, works well for my needs, and Apple Intelligence's notification priority feature is genuinely helpful.
After a month, I found the iPhone experience smooth and enjoyable. I could switch to it, but I'm still an Android fan. Trying something new was worth it, and I'm excited to see what Apple does next.
