Future Star Chooses Miami Over LSU
Columbia, South Carolina, USAThu Jun 04 2026
Jaiden Bryant, a highly rated five‑star edge rusher from Irmo High School, has decided to switch his college commitment. He originally pledged to LSU but after an official visit to Coral Gables, he announced a new allegiance to the University of Miami. The decision was made public on Wednesday night and Bryant plans to return to Coral Gables for another visit this weekend.
Ranked 19th overall and fourth among edge rushers in the Class of 2027 by 247 Sports, Bryant stands at six feet three inches and weighs 245 pounds. He has been a key player for the Yellow Jackets, helping them win the 5A Division II state title two years running. Now competing in Class 4A, he aims to lead his team to a third straight championship appearance.
During last season’s games, Bryant recorded 79 tackles, 23 for loss, and 11 sacks. He also recovered six fumbles and intercepted one pass. A notable play came against Berkeley, where his fumble recovery sparked a score for the Yellow Jackets.
Bryant’s move to Miami reflects how a single visit can shape a recruit’s future. The Hurricanes’ program offered the right fit for his aspirations and playing style, making it a compelling choice.
