Gaza Conflict: Recent Violence Leaves Four Dead
Gaza StripMon Apr 27 2026
On Sunday, clashes in Gaza resulted in the deaths of at least four Palestinians, according to local health workers. An Israeli airstrike in the central village of Al-Mughraqa took one life, while two others died near Gaza City due to gunfire and tank shelling. In a separate incident, a 40-year-old woman was killed by Israeli forces in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the territory.
Israel’s military has not yet confirmed these reports but claims it is investigating. Meanwhile, they state they’ve targeted and eliminated several Hamas fighters in Gaza since Friday. Despite a ceasefire agreement signed in October 2025, violence has continued, with Israel carrying out almost daily strikes in Gaza.
Since the ceasefire began, local health officials report at least 800 Palestinians have died, while Israel says four of its soldiers were killed by militants during the same period. Both sides blame each other for breaking the truce. The conflict, which started in October 2023, has led to over 72, 500 Palestinian deaths, mostly civilians, according to Gaza health records.
Hamas’ initial attack on Israel in October 2023 killed 1, 200 people, based on Israeli records. The ongoing violence highlights the fragile nature of the ceasefire and the deep-rooted tensions between the two sides.
