Gaza is struggling with a deadly mix of bad weather and a long-lasting conflict. Recently, heavy rains and strong winds took 14 lives, including three young kids. The storm hit hard because many people are living in tents and makeshift homes. These shelters are no match for the harsh weather, leaving families soaked and shivering. The situation is even worse because of the ongoing war that has destroyed much of Gaza. Many people have no choice but to live in tents, which flood easily. Aid groups say this is happening because essential supplies, like building materials and fuel, are not getting through. This makes the storms more dangerous than they should be. Families are desperate. One mother, Um Mustafa, told how her food and belongings were ruined by the rain. She cried out for help in the middle of the night, her children soaked and cold. Sadly, an eight-month-old baby named Rahaf didn't survive the cold. Over 27, 000 tents were swept away, affecting around 250, 000 people. A truce was reached last October, allowing aid to flow into Gaza. But aid groups say that basic supplies are still being blocked. They argue that this is not just a weather problem but a man-made disaster. On the other hand, Israel says they are doing their part, sending in hundreds of aid trucks daily. They also claim to be planning for the upcoming winter. Despite the truce, there are still big hurdles. The US wants to move forward, but Israel has conditions. They want the return of the last deceased hostage and are dealing with a standoff with Hamas militants. This leaves the people of Gaza in a tough spot, facing both the elements and the fallout of war.
