Gaza's Fragile Peace: Lives Lost and Tents Torn

In Gaza, the peace is anything but peaceful. At least 13 people, including a child, lost their lives in Israeli strikes on Thursday. This happened while the world waited for U. S. The remains of the last Israeli hostage are still being recovered. Trump's Board of Peace is expected to include Bulgarian diplomat Nickolay Mladenov as its director-general. Mladenov has experience working with Israel and Hamas to ease tensions. The board's plan includes disarming Hamas, deploying an international security force, and reconstructing Gaza. But so far, progress has been slow.Despite the ceasefire, the death toll keeps rising. Over 400 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began, according to local health officials. Israel says its actions are in response to ceasefire violations by Hamas. On Thursday, an 11-year-old girl with dreams of becoming a doctor, a teenage girl, and two boys in a tent camp were among those killed. At least a dozen others were injured. The next day, relatives mourned the loss of a 16-year-old girl and her two nephews, who were killed in their tent in southern Gaza. Life in Gaza is tough, especially for those living in tents. Strong winds and rain have made their situation even harder. Many have returned to their tents to find them destroyed and their belongings gone. They dig through the dirt, hoping to find something to salvage. "The tent is not sheltering us, not even against a raindrop, " said Ayyat Hasanein, who was displaced from Gaza City. The situation is dire, and the peace is fragile.
