Did you know that Google has opened up a tool called SynthID? This tool is designed to mark AI-made content with a special stamp that humans can't see, but computers can easily spot. Google uses this tool to tag stuff like videos, images, and even text generated by their smart systems.
The idea behind SynthID is to help catch bad stuff like deepfakes before they spread. It's like a secret code embedded in the content. For text, SynthID changes how words are picked in a way that's tough to notice. A special formula can then check the text and tell if it's likely from a watermarked model.
Google did share some details in a paper. They said that the watermark works better with longer texts because there's more to check. While it can handle short texts, having more words makes the secret stamp stronger. This is a step forward, but it might take time before everyone in the AI world uses it.
