Google Maps Unveils Ukrainian Military Locations, Causes Concern

Recently, Google Maps has been stirring trouble by showing updated images of unknown Ukrainian military systems. Andriy Kovalenko, an official from Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, alerted the public via Telegram on Sunday. While he didn't specify which equipment or its location, he mentioned that Google has already started fixing this issue. Google hasn't responded to Newsweek's request for comment yet.
Former officials, like Andrii Ziuz and Ivan Stupak, think these images won't significantly impact Ukraine's defenses. They mainly show stationary objects, not the ever-changing front lines. Satellite imagery has been used throughout the war, but it's usually limited in planning quick attacks.
Ukraine's military chief, Gen Oleksandr Syrskyi, said they're holding back a strong Russian offensive. As winter approaches, intense battles are expected, with Russia making slow but steady gains in eastern Ukraine. They've captured several villages, including Vishnevoye and Kurakhivka, near Pokrovsk.
