Green Power: Cracking the Code of Electric Vehicle Batteries

Fri Dec 20 2024
Electric vehicles (EVs) are taking the world by storm. But before EVs can truly replace traditional cars, their batteries need a major upgrade. Scientists use a method called DEMATEL to figure out how factors in battery tech affect each other. This method is great for complex systems, but real-world decisions aren't always clear-cut. So, researchers added a new twist—intuitionistic fuzzy information. This helps them deal with the uncertainty and fuzziness in decision-makers' judgments. The study gathered feedback from experts and crunched the numbers using intuitionistic fuzzy math. This helped them spot which factors in EV battery tech are causing changes (cause factors) and which are being changed (effect factors). In the end, they found four cause factors and six effect factors. This info can help EV companies pinpoint what to improve.

questions

Why might electric vehicle companies be trying to obscure the real factors affecting battery technology?
How does the extended DEMATEL method accurately represent the uncertainties in decision-makers' judgments?
If battery technology were to become so advanced that it could decide its own future, how would this method fare?
