Guardian Angels Return: Fighting Subway Crime, One Patrol at a Time

The Guardian Angels are back in the Big Apple's subways! After 15 years, they're helping keep the city's underground safe. New Yorkers are thrilled, with some even greeting founder Curtis Sliwa with a kiss. But why are the Angels back? Recently, there have been serious crimes in the subway system. Just this month, a homeless woman was killed in an arson attack. The Angels aren’t just patrolling; they're also helping the homeless. They check on them and hand out water. It’s not an easy job, though. The Angels have lost members to violence in the past. The city's mayor isn't too happy about it, calling the patrols "theatrics. " But the people love it. They feel safer with the Angels around. The Governor has even sent in the National Guard to help. It seems like everyone is trying to make the subways safe again.
