UKMon Jun 23 2025
Paramount+ has given the green light for a second season of "MobLand, " the hit drama series starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren. This news comes just a few weeks after the show's first season wrapped up on the streaming platform.
The show has been a massive success, with its premiere episode racking up 26 million views in the U. S. and other English-speaking markets within the first 70 days. It also made a strong debut in non-English speaking territories, where it launched on May 30. These numbers make "MobLand" the second biggest launch for a Paramount original series, right behind "Landman. "
Since its third episode, "MobLand" has consistently been on Nielsen's Top 10 list of Streaming Originals for five weeks straight. This impressive performance has caught the attention of Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, who praised the creative team and the cast for their outstanding work.
"MobLand" is a gripping tale of two mob families locked in a brutal war that could destroy everything in its path. Alongside Hardy, Brosnan, and Mirren, the cast includes Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, and many more talented actors.
The series is a collaboration between Guy Ritchie, Ronan Bennett, Jez Butterworth, and David C. Glasser's 101 Studios, among others. Butterworth, who has an exclusive TV overall deal with Paramount+, expressed his excitement about the second season, highlighting the creative vision and strategic insight of the team.
Produced in association with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, "MobLand" is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. The show's success is a testament to the power of great storytelling and exceptional performances.
