In Colorado, a group called Shining Stars Foundation is asking for help with their yearly toy drive. They want to make the holidays brighter for kids with cancer and their families. This event has been happening for about 20 years, and around 250 kids get to enjoy the toys each year. The foundation is collecting new, unwrapped toys for kids of all ages. They need things like arts and crafts, books, board games, sports equipment, and even gift cards for teens. You can drop off toys at different places in Aspen, Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs until December 19th. Having a child with cancer can be really tough on families. Many parents have to quit their jobs to take care of their sick child, which makes the holidays even harder. The toy drive is a way to bring some joy and lighten the load for these families during a difficult time. The toys collected will be given to the kids and their siblings throughout the holiday season. They will also be used in the foundation's year-round programs to help the kids feel better.
