Helping Hands Under Fire: Veterans Targeted in Gaza Aid Mission
Gaza, PalestineSun Jul 06 2025
Two brave American veterans found themselves in harm's way while trying to do some good in Gaza. They were part of a group called the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is backed by the U. S. and Israel. These veterans had served their country with honor, earning many medals for their service.
While they were handing out food to people in need, someone threw grenades at them. The grenades were packed with tiny metal balls, making them even more dangerous. The veterans were hurt but are now getting the medical care they need and are in stable condition.
GHF had warned about this kind of thing happening. They said that Hamas, a group in control of Gaza, had threatened to attack anyone helping out, including Americans and local aid workers. After the attack, GHF showed pictures of the grenade pieces, saying they were made in Iran and often used by Hamas.
The group's leader, Rev. Johnnie Moore, blamed the media and the U. N. for making Hamas seem legitimate. He said that by repeating Hamas' lies, they were helping the group spread its message and carry out attacks like this one.
The U. S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, wasn't happy about the attack either. He said that Hamas punishes good deeds, and this was just another example of that.
The Israeli military also spoke up, saying that Hamas and other groups in Gaza were trying to stop aid from getting to people who need it. They helped the injured veterans get to a safer place for treatment.
GHF was upset that no one was speaking out against the threats and violence. They said they had warned everyone for weeks, but no one listened. Now, Hamas had attacked American veterans with grenades while they were trying to help feed people.
This attack happened just a week after GHF said that Hamas had put bounties on their workers' heads. That means Hamas was offering money to anyone who hurt or killed someone working with GHF. The group said that their workers were just trying to help feed people in Gaza during the war.
Since May, GHF has delivered 60 million meals to people in Gaza. Despite the dangers, they're still committed to their mission of helping those in need.
