The leader of Hezbollah, a militant group based in Lebanon, admitted that their key supply route through Syria has been blocked by rebel forces. This route was crucial for Iran to send weapons and other materials to Hezbollah, helping them maintain their power and influence. The collapse of Syria's government, which happened recently, disrupted this supply chain, making it harder for Hezbollah to get what they need.
“Right now, Hezbollah can't use the route through Syria, ” said Naim Qassem, the group's leader, in a televised speech. He added that they would look for other ways to get their supplies or see if they can reopen the Syria route under a new government.
This setback comes after Hezbollah agreed to a cease-fire with Israel following months of war. It highlights the importance of steady supply lines for military groups like Hezbollah.
