China is home to millions of people with HIV/AIDS, many of whom rely on antiretroviral drugs to survive. These drugs are a lifeline, but accessing them can be tough. There is not much info on the practical challenges these patients face. It is important to understand the difficulties patients might encounter in their journey to access these drugs. This study looked at how well HIV/AIDS patients in Shandong Province can find and use these drugs. The research took a close look at five key abilities: Can the patients even know where to find the drugs? Can they manage to get to where they need to go? Can they afford the costs involved? Can they communicate what they need to the healthcare workers? And finally, can they properly use the drugs once they have them? The study reveals that many patients struggle with the practical side of accessing these medications. For example, some people cannot find out where to get the drugs, while others struggle with the costs. Some patients face problems with transportation. All these barriers need to be understood and addressed. This study urges us to see that there are many practical obstacles for HIV/AIDS patients in China when it comes to accessing necessary drugs. By understanding these challenges, we can work to improve the situation. The focus should be on making healthcare more accessible for people who really need it. This includes making medications available and affordable, giving clear information, and making sure everyone can get to the places they need to go.
