In the early hours of a Monday morning, four clever thieves managed to snatch almost $2 million in high-end fashion from a well-known men's boutique in New York City's SoHo neighborhood. The store, 4G Seller, is a hotspot for celebrities like Drake and Mark Wahlberg, offering unique, pre-worn clothing that can cost a fortune.
The thieves were well-prepared, bringing their own ladder to climb the fire escape and break in through a window. They knew exactly what they wanted and quickly grabbed all the expensive jeans, including a pair once owned by singer Lenny Kravitz. The store's owner, Vincent Ferraro, is known for finding rare pieces of clothing and selling them to high-profile clients, like Travis Kelce, for prices as high as $150, 000.
The burglary lasted only about four minutes, but the thieves made off with a significant amount of merchandise. While some reports suggest the stolen goods are worth nearly $2 million, others estimate the value to be around $1 million. The thieves were dressed as construction workers and wore masks, making it difficult for witnesses to identify them.
Guy Story, who lives above the boutique, was woken up by the noise of the break-in. He and his wife heard a crashing sound and other unfamiliar noises around 4 a. m. Despite the thorough planning of the thieves, there is hope that the stolen clothing will be found. The unique nature of the merchandise means that anyone wearing it is likely to be noticed.
The NYPD has not made any arrests as of Tuesday, and the investigation is ongoing. The store's brand ambassador, Tommy Macari, expressed confidence that the clothing will be recovered. He pointed out that the distinctive nature of the items makes them hard to miss. "People wear these clothes to be seen in it. And, you know, if you're seen in a one-of-one piece, we're going to figure it out, " he said.
