High School Photographers Shine in 2024
Massachusetts, USAWed Jan 01 2025
This year has been a banner year for high school photojournalism in Massachusetts. The Globe recently shared a collection of 30 stunning photos, capturing the action of 20 different sports teams. These images were taken by 15 talented students from across the state. This is just the latest in a series of 38 photo showcases that the Globe has published in 2024 as part of their high school sports photo initiative.
Almost 300 students from over 150 high schools have joined this unique and free program. Together, they have submitted more than 1, 300 photos for everyone to enjoy—from fans and parents to coaches and athletes. The program is still open to more photographers, making it easy for any high school student in Massachusetts to sign up.
This initiative gives students a platform to showcase their skills and passion for photography. It also brings a fresh perspective to sports coverage, allowing young photographers to capture moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. The program has been a resounding success, but there's always room for more budding photographers to join and add their unique touch.
