Hollywood Stars Face Loss in LA Wildfires

Los Angeles, USASat Jan 11 2025
The recent wildfires in Los Angeles have left a trail of destruction, with many Hollywood stars losing their homes or facing significant damage. One of the affected stars is Milo Ventimiglia, known for his role in "This Is Us. " His home in Pacific Palisades was reduced to ashes, including a newly installed crib for his expected child. Ventimiglia and his pregnant wife, Jarah Mariano, evacuated with their dog and watched the tragic event unfold on security cameras. They decided to turn off the cameras as the reality of the loss became too much to bear. Ventimiglia drew a parallel between his character, Jack Pearson, who died in a house fire, and his real-life situation. "It's not lost on me the way life imitates art, " he said. Mandy Moore, Ventimiglia's on-screen wife, also faced losses. Her home in Altadena was partially damaged, leaving it unlivable. Her husband, a musician, lost his studio and all his instruments. Mel Gibson's home was completely destroyed, confirmed by his publicist Alan Nierob. The wildfires have been devastating, with at least 10 people losing their lives, thousands of structures and vehicles destroyed, and over 150, 000 people still under evacuation orders. Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh, saw their home turned into a pile of dust and debris. Keleigh shared before-and-after photos on Instagram, thanking first responders and urging others to evacuate. She expressed hope for a stronger comeback but regretted not taking her wedding dress. Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton, Jeff Bridges, Cary Elwes, and R&B star Jhené Aiko also lost their homes. Haley Joel Osment reported losing everything in Altadena.
