Israel got two more bodies from Gaza, said to be hostages. Hamas claims they found these bodies on Saturday. The bodies were given to Israel through the Red Cross. Before this, Israel had only received 10 out of 28 hostage bodies. People in Israel are upset because the ceasefire deal promised all hostages, alive or dead, would be returned. The Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt is still closed. Israel says it will stay shut until all hostage bodies are returned and the ceasefire is fully followed. This border is important for Palestinians needing medical help or trying to go home. Hamas says Israel's air strikes have made it hard to find the remaining bodies. The strikes have turned many buildings into rubble, and Israel won't let heavy machinery into Gaza to help with the search. The UN says Gaza is now a wasteland, with people searching through the rubble for bodies and their homes. As part of the ceasefire deal, Hamas returned 20 living hostages to Israel. Israel also freed 250 Palestinian prisoners and 1, 718 detainees from Gaza. But tensions remain high. On Saturday, 11 members of a Palestinian family were killed by an Israeli tank shell. Israel says they fired at a suspicious vehicle that crossed a line marking the area still occupied by Israeli forces. The conflict started after a Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023. About 1, 200 people were killed, and 251 were taken hostage. Since then, at least 68, 000 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. The UN considers these figures reliable. In September, a UN commission said Israel had committed genocide in Gaza, but Israel denies this.
