How Big a Deal is Texas's Schedule Strength?

Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian isn't too worried about what the College Football Playoff (CFP) committee looks for in their rankings. He's more focused on playing good football. The Longhorns, ranked third, have two big games left against Kentucky and Texas A&M. Their schedule strength isn't great, ranking 38th nationally, but they're still in a good position for the playoffs. Only five teams in the latest CFP bracket have better schedules.Texas controls its own destiny. Winning the SEC Championship would almost guarantee a playoff spot and a first-round bye. But if they stumble, other SEC teams with better schedules could take their place. Sarkisian wants Texas to focus on their games, not other teams' results. Three more wins, including the SEC title, would make their case strong.
