How Marketing Nudges Can Shape Online Behavior

Fallujah University, IraqMon Oct 05 2026

A study looked at how social marketing can shape online manners at the University of Fallujah. It focused on 215 students. The main concern was that some students did not follow digital etiquette well enough. The researchers wanted to see if social marketing tools could improve that.

The team used a questionnaire to gather data. They then analyzed the results with SPSS V24. The methods included averages, standard deviations, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. This helped them check whether the variables were linked in meaningful ways.

The findings showed that the university already used social marketing in several areas. These areas included social product, social pricing, social promotion, and social distribution. The study found that these efforts supported digital transformation. Student commitment to digital etiquette rose by 25 percent when measured against approved digital behavior standards. The effect was statistically significant, with p less than 0.05. In simple terms, the marketing practices helped encourage better online behavior and reduce careless actions.

The study also pointed to practical methods that helped. Awareness videos, graphics, and direct interaction with students made ethical messages easier to understand. The researchers concluded that social marketing can act as a real driver of change in digital spaces. They also suggested that Iraqi universities should adopt newer social marketing practices. They said universities should also improve technology systems and build stronger human resources to fit the modern digital environment.
