Humans in the Spotlight: A Year of Connection and Discovery
Fri Feb 07 2025
A place where you can learn about what makes us human. Boston's Museum of Science is doing just that with a new program called "Being Human. "
This program will look at how we're all connected. It won't just be about science.
This includes mental and physical health. It's a big deal! After all, understanding ourselves can help us navigate life's challenges.
The director of the Center for Life Sciences, Insoo Hyun, said, "It's important to focus on what we have in common, especially when things are tough. " She wants to show how we can live better lives by helping each other.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, a well-known face in health, will be part of this program. He worked at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. An interview with him will be part of "The Big Question, " the museum’s digital series.
Other big names are part of this program. They include Arianna Huffington, artist Beatie Wolfe, and Emerson College.
There will be activities in the Hall of Human Life. Young people will love it. The museum will also have demonstrations with a "humanoid robot. "
Disappointingly, the program is mainly focused on mainstream topics like women's health, AI in medicine, aging, body systems, and genetics. We need more than the standard topics.
A new activity will be announced each month throughout 2025.
