Ice Alert! Minnesota and Wisconsin Counties in the Cold Spotlight

Winter is not over yet! This weekend, 10 counties in Minnesota and Wisconsin are under Winter Weather Advisories. It’s not the snow that’s the problem, but the ice. Roads and sidewalks could turn into slippery surfaces, making travel dangerous. While some advisories ended on Saturday, three counties in each state are still under warning until Sunday afternoon. This is not a typical snow storm. Freezing drizzle could create a thin layer of ice, especially on bridges and overpasses. Be extra careful if you live in Duluth, Hayward, or any of the other affected areas. The weather forecast shows ice forming overnight into Sunday morning, with the highest risk in hilly regions. Prepare for slippery conditions. Slow down while driving, and watch your steps when walking. Untreated surfaces can be treacherous. Remember, safety comes first!
