Things are getting tense between Ireland and Israel. On Sunday, Israel announced it would shut down its embassy in Ireland. This move is due to what Israel calls “extreme anti-Israel policies” from Ireland. Ireland had previously said it would recognize a Palestinian state and is now supporting a case against Israel at the International Court of Justice. But Ireland’s Prime Minister, Simon Harris, didn't like this decision. He said Ireland is all about peace, human rights, and following international laws.
Meanwhile, the war in Gaza continues. Israeli airstrikes killed over 30 people, including several children. Some were at a school and others at homes where people were seeking shelter. Israel says it hit targets linked to terrorists. A journalist for Al Jazeera was also killed in an airstrike.
This war started when militants from Gaza attacked southern Israel, causing many deaths and taking hostages. Israel’s response has been deadly, with nearly 45, 000 Palestinians killed, many of them women and children. The exact numbers of combatants and civilians are unclear.
