Is College Football 26 Worth the Hype?

USAThu Jul 10 2025
College Football 26 is here, and it's packed with improvements. The game now feels more realistic with better music, coach likenesses, and dynamic lighting. The Trophy Room is back, adding a fun and educational twist. Gameplay has seen some tweaks, making it a bit more challenging but also more rewarding. Receivers can adjust better to catches, and quarterbacks need to be more accurate. The transfer portal in Dynasty Mode is active, but it might be too much for some. Group of 5 schools struggle to keep top players unless you tweak the settings. The coaching carousel is wild and sometimes unrealistic, but it's entertaining. Road to Glory has been significantly improved with the addition of a high school mode. It's challenging but fun, and it gives you a chance to work your way up from a lower-ranked recruit. The college mode is mostly the same, but the high school addition makes a big difference. Online play now includes home-field advantage, which adds a new layer to the game. However, the game is not perfect. Some features, like Team Builder, are still glitchy. The game is also becoming more complex, which might not be ideal for casual players. It's a love letter to college football, but it's worth considering if the upgrades are enough for you to justify buying the new version.
