Is the U. S. Really Thinking of Adding Bitcoin to its Financial Reserves?
USASun Feb 02 2025
Picture this: Uncle Sam decides to put crypto in the country’s vaults. Pretty drastic, right?
The whole point is clear. He wants to show the world that something besides the dollar is completely safe. Yikes, where are the samba dancing and drum beats for that real numbers?
Why would anybody do this? The logic seems to be to parallel a reliable asset with a dollar.
Recently, some fairly smart finance folk have been discussing the idea of "add crypto" into the nation's Monetary War Chests hey say crypto is very efficient and the the transfer fees are cheaper.
But really, does the US need another type of reserve currency?
For now, most investors around the world love to hold dollars. That’s why you can’t get rid of the dollars regardless of the reason.
The dollar has been the trusty standby, the Goldilock’s porridge of money sharing for so long. And now the thereplacement is crypto.
The big question, though, is why the US would ever ditch the dollar as the global reserve? One key reason is debt.
The US Government loves to borrow money to pay its bills and fund its big dreams. And there is a lot of foreign investors who love to buy up that debt.
So when the US says crypto is the new thing and is just as good as the dollar, these global debt buyers might think twice.
If crypto somehow becomes a contender for the dollar’s throne, it could mess with the worldwide financial order.
What does this mean for the USA?
The country is in a lot of debt, and yes, the USA is spending way more than it earns.
Governments borrow money in their own currency?
-It is important to remember we are addicted to it, and we need foreign investors to buy our debt. But will "bit coin" really be an answer to out spending problems?
Another thing that doesn’t make sense is why "Democrats" aren't more worried about getting the economy in order before they get themselves into another huge mess
USA loves to spend cash and bring in revenue. We do have huge looming spending issues. And there isa 36 trillion dollar tab that young people will have to pay for and this is a problem that will only get worse. Even if our spending goes up, but we don't’ have any idea what will happen
Republicans need to believe also they are possibly about to take a wrong direction.
Another concern is the USA is going to relax on the dollar's power before “New-man-in-charge” gets his dream plan running.
You see, the country has always kept some commodities in its reserves.
Some “crypto advocates” are willing to go to the wall for crypto but ever bank in this world will become outdated since we are going to start putting Crypto in a huge vault filled with the coin.
But all the rules have changed sinceeverybody’s finally realized that Bitcoin is competing
Is crypto trying to compete with the dollar or is the dollar competing with the currency.
Traditionally, countries had reserves to back up their money. And crypto is "different"
Look at the key clues why the American Government does not like or want to compete in this segment.
The loud mouth crypto advocate actually does not have any problem with CryptoHe loves crypto, Its great to have some money in a balanced portfolio but he is very much against using it as a replacement to the dollar.
We are literally telling global investors it’s better to put your money in crypto than dollar-denominated assets like our debt.
Now before you jump into the bandwagon wait and see: The USD is still the main currency overseas. . . so why the sudden demand? And why for all the reasons. ? The federal government has not yet been tipped into the Bitcoin camp which is being wanted by political leaders from all sides.
This is what I mean. It will take some time and it will not be overnight.
