Israel Gets a Seat at the Peace Table

Israel has been asked to join President Trump's new "Board of Peace. " This group is supposed to help solve big fights around the world. But it's not clear if Israel will say yes or not. This idea started last year when Trump wanted to stop the fighting in Gaza. Now, the plan is bigger. It's about fixing problems everywhere, not just in Gaza. Israel's leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, isn't happy with how things are going. He doesn't like the people chosen for a smaller group called the Gaza Executive Board. This board is part of the bigger Peace Board.The Gaza Board has people from Turkey and Qatar. Israel doesn't get along with either of these countries. Turkey has people in Gaza, and Qatar talks to both Israel and Hamas. So, Israel is not pleased. The White House says the Peace Board will help make Gaza safer and richer. But Israel thinks the Gaza Board might not be the best way to do that. They haven't said exactly why they don't like it.
