Israel's Military Moves: A New Middle East?

Middle EastSat Jun 28 2025
Israel has made some big moves lately. In less than two years, it has changed the balance of power in the Middle East. After a surprise attack caught them off guard, Israel struck back hard. They targeted Iran and its allies, like Hamas and Hezbollah. This wasn't just a few small fights. It was a series of big battles that shook up the whole region. Iran thought it was winning, but others disagree. Israel showed it could hit Iran's important sites and leaders. At the same time, Israel's enemies, like Hamas and Hezbollah, lost many of their key people. Even Syria's leader, Bashar al-Assad, stepped down after years of war. While Israel wasn't directly involved in his ouster, it did remove another rival close to Iran. But winning battles doesn't mean everything is solved. The political problems are still there. In fact, they might be worse now. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is bad, and many Palestinian civilians have died. This has hurt Israel's reputation around the world. People are protesting, countries are imposing sanctions, and there's even a genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice. Before the Gaza war, Israel was making friends with other countries in the region. The U. S. was even trying to get Israel and Saudi Arabia to officially recognize each other. But now, that's on hold. Saudi Arabia says it won't happen until Israel makes progress with the Palestinians. Israel's military successes have given it more freedom to act. But it's not clear what will happen next. If Israel keeps winning, the Middle East could look very different. But if things don't go as planned, the region could end up in an even more dangerous stalemate.
