Jenny McCarthy isn't interested in going back to "The View, " even if they ask her. She made this clear while chatting on "The Katie Miller Podcast. " She said, "They've asked me to come back for, like, reunion shows. " Her response? "Over my dead body would I ever step foot in that place. "
Things didn't go as planned when she joined the show in 2013. The idea was to bring in a fresh face to tone down the heated debates. But that plan didn't last long. McCarthy thought she was the perfect fit because she wasn't into politics at the time. However, things took a sharp turn after just one week.
She was expecting to talk about light topics like "The Bachelor" or "Dancing with the Stars. " Instead, she found herself in the middle of serious discussions. "They're like, ‘Today we’re going to be discussing the hostage situation and whether the United States government should pay the ransom or not. ’ And I was like, 'What? '" she recalled. "I'm like, ‘I just know who won 'Dancing with the Stars. ’ So getting through that year was really difficult. "
McCarthy has since become more vocal about her political views. She identifies as politically independent but leans conservative. She credits the current administration for making her more outspoken. "I'm much more political now in terms of having opinions because of — thank God — our latest administration has helped so much, " she said.
Her time on "The View" was tough. The show's shift to heavy political topics caught her off guard. She felt unprepared and out of place. This experience might have shaped her decision to stay away from the show, despite any future invitations.
