Penn State Police are looking into a heated exchange between former NFL player Jason Kelce and a fan. The incident, caught on video, shows Kelce smashing the phone of a fan who used a homophobic slur against his brother. The fan had been heckling Kelce, who was in State College for ESPN's "College Gameday. " The police noted an incident of property damage nearby. Kelce, who was taking part in ESPN's "College Gameday, " was walking near Beaver Stadium when a fan shouted at him. The fan used a homophobic slur to taunt Kelce about his brother, Travis, and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Kelce responded by grabbing the fan's phone and smashing it on the ground. The fan then pushed Kelce and demanded his phone back. The police listed criminal mischief and disorderly conduct as possible offenses. It's not clear if someone reported the incident. Kelce later apologized on ESPN's "Monday Night Countdown, " stating he was not proud of his actions and would continue to treat people with common decency. Penn State football coach James Franklin noted that the fan faced consequences for his actions.
