Kevin Durant Playing Hard to Get
USA, PhoenixThu Feb 06 2025
Recent chatter about a potential swap betweenthe Suns and the Warriors involving Kevin Durant has lost its spark. The reason? Durant himself isn't keen on the idea of re-joining the Warriors.
He's not the only one. According to sources, Warriors are not keen on adding a player who is not thrilled to be there.
Things got interesting when several teams reached out to the Suns about a potential deal. This came even after Durant's winning stint with Golden State from 2016-19. Durant did win two NBA Final MVP awards there, yet not everything was sunshine and roses. He faced criticism for signing on after being eliminated playing against his past team, OKC. The heat seems to have cooled on the Warriors' side, but that doesn't mean the mission is over for Durant. Keeping a young star with the Suns is not the end of the line.
It turns out, Durant is not a pushover when it comes to trade decisions. He doesn't have a no-trade clause, but that doesn't mean he can't voice his thoughts. It was not a happy sight for the Suns to see.
The Suns currently have 25-24 record. The big question is what happens now that Durant is staying in Phoenix.
Thursday is the trade deadline for players, 1:00 p. m. MST is crunch time . Things could get messy before the clock runs out
It is likely that the Miami Heat could be on the pitch.
These final moves will decide the rest of the Suns' season.
