Late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel recently cracked jokes about former President Trump's alleged post-presidency calls with Vladimir Putin. Veteran journalist Bob Woodward’s new book, "War, " claimed Trump had secretly called Putin several times, including once in early 2024. Plus, Trump reportedly sent Putin COVID-19 testing kits while still in office. Team Trump denies this, but the Kremlin confirmed the COVID tests were sent. Kimmel joked about this, saying, "You wouldn’t want the world's most notorious killer getting a cold, right? " Kimmel also took aim at Republican J. D. Vance, who dismissed Woodward as a "hack" and said there's nothing wrong with talking to world leaders. Kimmel disagreed, saying, "Chatting with dictators who threaten our allies isn't OK once you're out of office. It’s like not inviting Diddy to your party. " He added that it’s also illegal for private citizens to conduct foreign policy under the Logan Act. In a previous show, Kimmel even discussed Trump's friendship with Diddy, playing a clip from "Celebrity Apprentice" where Trump called Diddy "a good guy. " When singer Aubrey O'Day hesitated to confirm this, Kimmel joked, "Well, he also thinks Kim Jong-un is a good guy—so, top-notch choices! "
