Laurie Metcalf and Micah Stock Bring Chicago Hit to Broadway

A new play is coming to Broadway this fall. It's called "Little Bear Ridge Road. " The story is about a sharp-tongued aunt and her long-lost nephew. They meet again in a small Idaho town. The two have a lot of history to sort out. The play is funny and emotional. It's about two people trying to connect despite their fears. The play first opened in Chicago last year. It was a big hit at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Now, it's moving to Broadway. Performances start on October 7. The official opening night is October 30. The show will run for 18 weeks. Laurie Metcalf and Micah Stock are reprising their roles. They played these characters in Chicago. This is Metcalf's seventh time on Broadway in the last decade. Joe Mantello is directing the play. He has worked with Metcalf before. Scott Rudin is producing the play. This is his return to Broadway after a long break. Rudin left Broadway in 2021. He faced allegations of mistreating his staff. He has since apologized and said he has changed. The play's writer, Samuel D. Hunter, is making his Broadway debut. He won a MacArthur "Genius" Grant. His play "The Whale" was turned into a movie. Brendan Fraser starred in it and won an Oscar. The design team includes Scott Pask for sets, Jessica Pabst for costumes, Heather Gilbert for lighting, and Mikhail Fiksel for sound. The Steppenwolf Theatre Company commissioned the play. They presented its world premiere.
