Layla Kiffin Turns Fitness Into a Party Near LSU

Lane Kiffin is coaching the LSU Tigers this season. The team sits at No. 11 in the AP poll heading into week five and has only lost one game, which came against his former squad Ole Miss. While Lane gets the headlines on the field, his wife Layla is also catching eyes around campus.

Layla has turned her love for movement into a new business called LIVIN Studio. The studio sits close to Tiger Stadium and offers heated fitness classes. Inside the room infrared heat keeps the temperature around 105 degrees with about thirty percent humidity. Classes blend yoga, sculpt and strength workouts. Layla wants the vibe to feel more like a party than a typical gym session, so the music is upbeat and the instructors keep the energy high.

Besides the hot workout space, LIVIN Studio also has three red light recovery pods. These pods do not heat the room; they use a softer infrared light that reaches under the skin. Layla says athletes might benefit from spending about thirty minutes a day in the pods to help with recovery. Coming from a family of athletes, she has seen many injuries and is excited to see new technology making a difference.
