Visiting Lego's website one evening and seeing a shiny banner with golden coins stamped with the Lego logo. It claimed that the "Lego coin" was now official and promised secret rewards for buyers. But hold on, it wasn't real! The button to buy led to an external site selling "LEGO Tokens" using Ethereum. Someone had taken over Lego’s website and used it for a crypto scam. This happened while Lego’s headquarters were asleep. Luckily, the company noticed quickly and removed the unauthorized banner and links. Now, the Fortnite collaboration banner is back, and the "buy now" button works as intended. Lego said no user accounts were compromised and they found out what caused the issue. They’re also taking steps to prevent this from happening again, but they won't share details about what happened or their new security measures. It’s important to be cautious online, especially when something seems too good to be true. Always double-check before clicking any links or buying anything online.
