A tragic plane crash has shaken the NASCAR world. Seven lives were lost when a Cessna C550 jet went down at the Statesville Regional Airport. Among the victims were former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, and their two children, Emma and Ryder.
The families of the victims released a joint statement expressing their deep sorrow. They described Greg and Cristina as loving parents and active philanthropists. Emma, 14, was remembered as a kind and wonderful person, while Ryder, 4, was a joyful and curious child. The statement also honored Dennis Dutton and his son Jack, as well as Craig Wadsworth, all of whom were beloved in the NASCAR community.
Craig Wadsworth, a longtime NASCAR employee, was a friend of Greg Biffle. He had helped Greg with various tasks, including delivering supplies after Hurricane Helene. Rep. Richard Hudson also expressed his condolences, highlighting Greg's impact both on and off the track.
Greg Biffle, known as "The Biff, " had a successful racing career. He won the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series championship in 2000 and the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship in 2002. He was the first driver to win championships in both series. Throughout his career, Biffle won 54 races and was named one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers.
Greg and Cristina got married in January 2023. They had two children together, Ryder and Emma from Greg's previous marriage. The loss of these seven individuals has left a profound void in the lives of their loved ones and the NASCAR community.
