A Mother's Journey Through Unimaginable Loss and Resilience

Lori Coble, a mother of seven, passed away at the age of 48. Her life was marked by both immense joy and profound sorrow. In 2007, she lost her three eldest children in a tragic car accident. Kyle Christopher, Emma Lynn, and Katie Gene were just 5, 4, and 2 years old, respectively. After months of grieving, Lori and her husband Chris decided to try for another child. A year later, they welcomed triplets into their lives. Each child carried a middle name in honor of their older siblings: Jake Christopher, Ashley Lynn, and Ellie Gene. For the next 16 years, Lori and Chris focused on raising their family. In June 2025, Chris noticed changes in Lori's behavior. She became increasingly clumsy, running into walls and dropping objects. By early July, her symptoms worsened, and she exhibited signs of a stroke. Doctors diagnosed her with stage 4 glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.Chris was devastated. He had hoped that their family had endured enough tragedy. "I started mourning the loss of my wife the day she got diagnosed, " he shared. Lori underwent two surgeries to remove the tumor, but the second procedure left her with limited mobility on her left side. Complications led to a stroke, and she spent 40 days in the hospital. Upon her return home, Lori began chemotherapy and radiation. However, the treatments left her exhausted and affected her speech. In mid-November, she was hospitalized again due to a severe brain infection. Chris expressed his anguish, feeling that the treatments were as torturous as the disease itself. In early December, Lori managed to schedule an interview, but the day before, she was rushed to the hospital with pneumonia. She was eventually moved to hospice care, surrounded by her family. Chris remained by her side, determined to make her final days as comfortable as possible. On January 21, Chris announced Lori's passing on Facebook. Her legacy of resilience and love will forever be remembered by those who knew her.
