A New Twist on Control: Dylan Faden’s Big Manhattan Adventure

Wed Jun 03 2026
Remedy Entertainment has dropped fresh news about its upcoming game, Control Resonant. The announcement came during Sony’s State of Play event. Players will meet Dylan Faden again, but this time in a whole new setting. The release date is set for August 27. The title will appear on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PCs. A new trailer shows Dylan waking up inside a glass cell at the Federal Bureau of Control. The scene is tense and gives a hint of what’s to come. Dylan’s story begins after years of being held by the Bureau. Now he is called back to fight a strange force that threatens Manhattan. The game promises a mix of supernatural powers and real‑world danger. Dylan must learn to use his abilities against enemies that can twist reality itself. The character is voiced by Sean Durrie. In the game’s description, Dylan searches for his sister, Jesse Faden, who leads the Bureau. Together they aim to stop a threat that has spilled beyond the Oldest House and is tearing apart the city.
In an earlier interview, Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen explained that Control Resonant will flip the original formula. Instead of a single, isolated building, players roam a distorted version of Manhattan. Enemies can change reality, but Dylan can manipulate gravity to gain an edge. The game adopts a different style from its 2019 predecessor. While both titles keep a harsh, surreal look and bold lighting, Control Resonant leans into action RPG mechanics. Players can level up Dylan’s powers and customize his weapons, especially the shapeshifting “Aberrant” gun. The new title offers a fresh take on the series, blending mystery with fast‑paced combat. Fans of the original will find familiar themes, but the open world and new abilities promise a different experience.
